How to reach Chopta
Ridgeview Camp is at Patpadiya, Chopta, in the Garhwal hills of Uttarakhand. Chopta is reached by road, usually via Rishikesh or Haridwar.
From Rishikesh by road
About 200 km, around 7 to 8 hours. The road goes via Devprayag, Srinagar, Rudraprayag and Ukhimath to Chopta.
From Delhi
About 450 km. Most people drive or take an overnight bus to Rishikesh or Haridwar, then continue by road.
Nearest railway station
Rishikesh or Haridwar. From there, take a taxi or a bus towards Ukhimath.
Nearest airport
Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun, about 220 km from Chopta.
By bus
Buses run from Rishikesh towards Ukhimath and Gopeshwar. From Ukhimath, shared or private taxis go to Chopta. Buses are few, so start early in the day.
Finding the camp
Ridgeview Camp is at Patpadiya, 3 km before the Tungnath trek gate at Chopta, on the road from Ukhimath. Look for our red Ridgeview Camp signboard by the road. Cars, tempo travellers and buses can drive up to the camp.
Taxi pickup
We can arrange a taxi on request, when one is available. The driver sets the price, so ask us on WhatsApp.
In winter
In winter, snow can block the road near Chopta for a few days at a time. Message us before you travel and we will tell you the current road condition.
